Boston Green Company Appoints Fabian Lira as Environmental, Health & Safety Director

    October 20, 2026

Boston Green Company, a leading provider of environmental and material handling solutions, today announced the appointment of Fabian Lira as Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Director. In this role, he will lead the company’s safety, compliance, and emergency preparedness programs. He will also strengthen the training and standards that protect Boston Green’s employees, clients, and the communities they serve across the Northeast.

“Fabian brings a rare combination of global experience and hands-on safety leadership,” said Adam Dennison, Chief Executive Officer of Boston Green Company. “He has built safety programs for some of the world’s most recognized companies and trained tens of thousands of people to respond when it matters most. Safety and compliance are at the core of everything we do, and Fabian’s expertise will help us raise the bar even higher for our team and our clients.”

Lira brings more than 19 years of international EHS experience across pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, food production, manufacturing, and aviation. His expertise covers regulatory compliance, process safety, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and workforce training. He has worked with organizations of every size, from single facilities to global operations in the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

From 2007 to 2024, Lira served as Founder and CEO of Health & Safety Consulting (HSC), a global EHS consultancy. HSC served major clients such as Chevron, Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, McDonald’s, Johnson & Johnson, Bayer, General Electric, and PepsiCo. Under his leadership, the firm managed more than 50 ergonomics and industrial hygiene projects. It also completed quality audits and hazard assessments at more than 100 workplaces to ensure compliance with OSHA and international standards. He continues to advise clients as an EHS and Emergency Response Senior Advisor with HSC.

Lira also founded the International Fire Academy. He led instructors and consultants across nine countries and trained more than 50,000 participants in occupational safety, firefighting, hazardous materials, emergency medical services, and ergonomics. His training background includes service as a marine firefighting instructor under International Maritime Organization (IMO) model courses and as an American Heart Association instructor.

“Our crews handle hazardous materials and respond to emergencies around the clock,” said Ryan Dougherty, Vice President of Operations at Boston Green Company. “Fabian understands what that work demands in the field. His background in emergency response, hazard assessment, and training will directly support our operations and help every team member go home safe at the end of the day.”

Most recently, Lira served as Environmental, Health & Safety Manager at Kayem Foods, Inc. There, he directed EHS programs across multiple Massachusetts manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and MassDEP requirements. He led Process Safety Management programs for ammonia refrigeration systems and drove the digital transformation of EHS operations through automated workflows and data-driven tools. He also served as Workforce Pathways Manager at the Harvard Ed Portal, where he built partnerships with industry and community organizations to expand career training in STEM fields.

In his new position, Lira will oversee EHS strategy, regulatory compliance, incident prevention, and training across Boston Green Company’s operations. He will focus on strengthening the company’s safety culture while supporting the responsive, reliable service clients count on.

“I’m proud to join a company that puts safety, compliance, and people first,” said Lira. “Throughout my career, I’ve seen how strong safety programs protect workers, prevent incidents, and build trust with communities. I look forward to working with Boston Green’s talented team to build on that foundation and deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable results for every client we serve.”
